Rich Heritage

Mary Immaculate Queen School, a non-profit institution, began educating students in 1959. MIQ is located at 884 N. Lemoore Ave, Lemoore, CA and is the parochial school for St. Peter's Parish in the Diocese of Fresno. Msgr. James O'Doherty, our Founder, placed the school in the hands of our heavenly Mother, Mary Immaculate Queen. The school was staffed and administered by the Sisters of Mercy from Ennis, Ireland, through the 1990-1991 school year. The Carmelite Sisters from India began their ministry during the 1991-1992 school year. The Carmelite Sisters were called to assist in communities in need of their services and MIQ is now staffed by caring, talented, and dedicated lay persons.

School Philosophy

We, the Pastor, principal, faculty, school, board and parents of Mary Immaculate Queen School are committed to providing an instructional environment which will encourage our students to reach their full potential by developing spiritually, intellectually, sociologically and physiologically. We focus on the formation of true Christian values while recognizing the freedom and dignity of the child as a person. We acknowledge the responsibility of parents as primary educators and teachers as facilitators of learning. We also recognize that the family, the parish and the community affect the student's complete development.

Campus Facility

Our facilities include our Administration building, two classroom buildings, Kindergarten building and ECP/Pre-K building, Extended Care building, Convent / Chapel, and O'Doherty Hall.  Saint Peter, Prince of the Apostles Church is on the same property and provides a beautiful setting for the school's weekly mass. Also on the same property are the church administration office and Holy Family Chapel.
